History of the Company

The founder of our company, Gerald McKinney, a Central Florida native, has been involved in the home improvement industry for over 40 years. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, Gerald began installing products such as roofing, siding, and windows. He formed his first corporation in Birmingham, Alabama in 1964 and operated specialty contracting businesses in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina over a forty year period. In 1995, Gerald returned to his hometown of Ocala, Florida and started Window Supply, Inc.

Window Supply, Inc., experienced tremendous growth in the Southeast from 1995 annual sales of $1.1 million and 1996 annual sales of 1.7 million to a projected 1997 year-end sales figure of almost $2 million. Nineteen ninety-seven (1997) has proven to be a pivotal year in which Gerald made the decision to expand his concept and success with additional locations. By establishing offices in various locations the company will be able to offer its specialty products and financing to a client base across the Southeast.

Gerald McKinney’s own experience embodies the entrepreneurial spirit– as a young high school graduate, he set out to discover what this great country has to offer and in the process, he found an industry in which he could excel and establish his own area of expertise and success –he has never deterred from this direction since he installed his “first” window in the late 1950’s and even today, as he seeks to install what will amount to literally “thousand’s” of windows along with other specialty products through National HomeCraft®.
